Our Mission

The mission of the Conservancy is the continued conservation, preservation, further development and maintenance of Oak Lawn Park and Arlington Hall. The Conservancy is dedicated to the belief that Oak Lawn Park is truly a jewel in the crown of the Dallas parks system, and invites everyone to enjoy and cherish this "Timeless Treasure."

The Conservancy has raised and invested more than $2.5 million in private funds to restore and expand historic Arlington Hall, and almost $3 million in gifts for new gardens and features in Oak Lawn Park.  We spend over $200,000 annually for general maintenance, repairs, reforestation, color changes, garden damage, plant replacement, utilities, and more. Join with us in our efforts to create a restored sense of community at Oak Lawn Park and Arlington Hall by becoming a member of the Conservancy.

Help Us Light Up the Park

Though Turtle Creek Boulevard is a beautiful drive year ‘round, most people’s favorite time of the year is December, when the trees surrounding Arlington Hall and its stately columns are wrapped in sparkling white lights.  It takes the support of our community to make the park glisten during the holidays.

For those who just want to honor or memorialize a friend or loved one with a lighted tree, we will create a large tasteful gift tag to mark your tree.  Please call the office at (214) 521-2003 to learn more.

Stay Up to Date

The Lee statue belongs to the City of Dallas, not the Conservancy, however we will be moving forward to keep fulfilling our mission:  the care of the park and hall.  On September 22, the Park & Recreation Board voted unanimously to remove the Robert E. Lee name from the park and restore the name to its original name dating from1890, Oak Lawn Park.

We’d love to keep you informed about the plans for the corner space and gather input for it.  Click on the link below and let us know how to reach you!
